Sometimes, I feel like my mom hates me. Any little thing I do, she yells at me. Sometimes I try to avoid the fights by answering calmly to her but she always manages to push me off the edge. Today, we were planning to go to church and I asked if I could borrow one of her trousers, she agreed but when I saw the trouser with net covering going up to the side my butt and I didn’t feel comfortable with it anymore. I told her to forget about it as polietly as I could but she started yelling at me telling me that people like me will never be grateful and that I should never meet her for any clothes again. I cried. Anytime she talks to me this way, I cry. I always cry myself to sleep every night because her words keep playing themselves over and over in my head. There was also a time I tried to confront her, telling her that her words hurt me but she didn’t seem to care. She just gave me this mocking laugh and continued what she was doing. She hurts me. She hurts me a lot and I wonder what I did that makes her hate me like this. I don’t know how much I can take it. I’m fifteen and the oldest of three children. Please I need help. Please.

Hello friend from your conversation here I really see your pain you are feeling this bad more especially when you think your mother hates you everybody wants to be loved exceptionally. But think of this your mum actually gave you her trouser to wear in this our African setting, my dear that’s extra love. Maybe your mum is not expressing her love the way you want but I smell love in the air dear.just take it easy and understand your mother and also find a good time to tell her your worries. thanks

Every mum loves her child I think. You are no exception. What I will ask though is, does she act harsh towards your other siblings?
