My name is Josephine Uleh. I am idoma by tribe from venue state. I attended airforce secondary School Makurdi and proceeded to university if maiduguri to study chemical engineering. As a child I had so much dreams and aspirations. To grow up happy, become a doctor or a pilot, be happily married with kids, help as many people as l can reach out to. All my dreams started crumbling when I lost my parents at age 12. My mother in August 1995 and father in January 1996. Continuing my education was not easy. After my elder sister struggled buy selling yams to send her six siblings which included me to school, I finished secondary School in 2000 and had to work till 2005 to support others through school. I gained admission inn 2005 to study Chemical engineering in the university of maiduguri. I was scared because I don’t know where my fees were going to come from. With much efforts from my siblings again, I graduated in 2010 with 2.1. I was hoping after graduation life will smile on me at least if I can get a job, probably get married and build a home. But no, I was not meant to enjoy the goodness of this world. I couldn’t secure any good job, no capital to start up any business, no marriage. I became miserable. Along came my husband in 2014. Though I knew him since 2003 while I was working at Mr Biggs. He came like an angel and being that I needed a shoulder to lean on , I married him in 2017. It has been hell for me. He made sure he sioled all the relationship I had with friends, family, colleagues, just anybody he sees that am comfortable with. It’s like he just wanted to secure me all to himself so he can do whatever he plans. I can’t have friends, I can’t go out, I have not travelled to see my family who are in the north since we got married. He wouldn’t allow me to go out to look for any job. Anyonevthat comes through any body other than himself, he turns it down. He accuses me of things I can’t even imagine and above all is his constant hitting. I feel like am loosing my sanity and I have no one to talk to because he has so much bad mouthed me before everyone. I feel trapped, weak and tired. I don’t even know how am going to come out if this. Maybe am not suppose to be here in this world. I actually can’t find my place here.
