This is my first time doing this so I don’t know where to start from.
I struggle with pornography and Masturbation. Not necessarily because I am addicted to it and I do it everyday, no. The urge only comes during certain periods of my menstrual cycle when hormones are high. Sometimes I can ignore it other times I can’t and when I submit to the feeling I feel shame and hurt afterwards. I am Catholic so the shame is even worse. I have a whole sexual history with this and it started when I was little. I try to find out why this stuck with me. I don’t know if it’s because I was introduced to it by my friend’s brother and my cousin when I was way younger than them and I keep trying to stop but I succeeded for a while and when I am in my lowest ( because I have suffered depression and body dysmorphia and emotional eating), I go right back and start hurting myself again and feeling like a fraud of a Christian and disappointment to God.
This is a little excerpt from my life struggles.
I am currently hurting from just masturbating and I feel awful especially now that I have a boyfriend and I feel like a fraud in the relationship and don’t know if I can tell him .

    Hello Anon

I paused for a minute to think of the right words to say… sometimes our actions surprise us, other times we are totally in control.
In both cases, we can take steps to remedy the actions we do not like or take steps to be better than we already are.

From your story, there is a lot you need to unpack and you might need a detailed therapy session to go through the challenges you’re experiencing.

However, it is important to know that a skilled professional can guide you through this phase. I’ll suggest you try to get help to deal with the feelings you’re having and get to understand yourself better.

I hope this helps you, you can signup for a therapy session here or with a specialist you trust. I wish you all the best.
