Am a seventeen years old girl from Nigeria. The issue I want to discuss now has been happening since when I was around thirteen years. Am the only the female of my parents also the first child.My mum is a trader whom I always help her with her shop almost Everytime. I tried to put in my best to help her with the shop but am always at fault at the end of the day while I was expecting a complement from her. At first I was always downcast but I still continue helping her with her shop. I was unable to achieve many things my mates were able to achieve, I was banned from having friends cos she said it would cause distraction to me. I lived like that for almost five years but as am growing I can see am not able to withstand it again so I became depressed thinking I am the worst child ever. I continued to keep my depression to myself but I can see it is affecting the way I behave to people around. customers begin to say am changing that am always angry or rude to them.i decided to talk to my parents one on one that they shouldn't be too hostile even though am wrong for me to change but my request was turned down. Am always accused by them because say am the one that did every bad things.people begin to think am not a good girl and started behaving somehow to me, now am depressed emotionally but physically am happy. I don't know what to do again so I decided to start an online counselling.
