I’m 19, a student. I come from a very strict home, because my parents feel all the people around us and in the world are bad and evil people who only want our downfall and that has really affected i and my siblings way of life. We can’t socialize with anyone except when we leave home and go to school for lectures or on social media but we never have our friends around at our house or anything of such. There’s this freedom we all crave but can’t have it because of our parents strictness. And this is one of the reasons that leads me to being in relationships with different people who only end up hurting me. In January this year, I found out the person I was dating already has a fiancée and is planning to get married to her this year. And the worst part, both he and the fiancée are my classmates so I see them everyday at school. I’ve been trying to get past it but I just can’t. Seeing them almost everyday together breaks me. Just early last year, I lost my virginity to a guy I really loved because I thought doing that will make him love me more but we ended up breaking up some months afterwards. And it still breaks me knowing I lost my virginity to a person that never really loved me at all.
This guy I broke up with in January, I don’t know but I’ve been having some few symptoms that seem like I just might be pregnant for him. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I doubt it but also scared that it might be true. I want to carry out some test to know whether it is or not but I can’t till after the resumption break and lectures start and I’m allowed to leave the house.
Thinking about it all has put a strain on me, these days I have insomnia, panic attacks, cry easily, and feel depressed. I just don’t know what to do at all. If it turns out that I really am pregnant then the only option might be suicide. Because if I don’t kill myself, my parents will and I for one know the guy won’t even agree to accept the baby as his. My life is totally ruined.
Anyone has any advice please?

It sounds like you are going through a very difficult and stressful situation. It’s important to prioritize taking care of yourself and seeking support from trusted individuals.

Regarding your strict parents, it may be helpful to have an open and honest conversation with them about your desire for more social interaction and see if there are any compromises that can be made. Alternatively, you could try finding social outlets through online communities, extracurricular activities, or volunteering.

As for the possibility of being pregnant, it’s important to take a pregnancy test and seek medical attention as soon as possible. If the test is positive, consider speaking with a healthcare provider and a trusted individual about your options and next steps. It’s important to prioritize your own health and well-being in this situation.

Regardless of the outcome, suicide is never a good fix to a problem. You can talk to a Counsellor about how you feel and learn ways to manage the situation.
