I am confuse if I am making the right decision, I am married for 2 years with a son , I’ve been coping with my ‘ husband’ because of I feel a separated parents matters in a child’s life ( a child deserves to have both fatherly and motherly love) when I was pregnant, my husband started was always complaining of why I left my previous job, he comes back very late most times and tends to pour anger on me, at times he locks me out of the house and owns the door at will, after I gave birth, he started body shaming me( I use to be a size 10 now a size 12/14) talking about how his girlfriend’s use to refer me as a problematic person saying I don’t have what those girls have, I don’t have the money they have, I need to see what they have in their shop etc.
I stayed back still because of my son, countless times his sister comes around to settle out quarrels.

So, he got back home one faithful night and dragged me out of the house naked, I managed to enter, work a dress and went back him so he started hitting me. I got angry and said this is the end, I carried my baby and left the house that night it was almost 12 midnight.
After 4 months of separation, we were called to be talked to and he denied ever laying his finger on me saying he regretted ever marrying me saying j want to kill him (owing to the fact that I’m always looking for something to hold for self-defense) whenever he comes around and I feel he would hit me.
I’m confuse on the headway.

    Hello friend,

Domestic violence is a growing issue in our today’s society. While it may seem difficult due to the fact that you have bonded and developed strong emotions towards your partner; it is only wise to consider your own physical and mental safety and that of your child. You should not be with someone who body shames and also assaults you.

If you are finding it hard to decide on the next step to take, then i recommend you speak to a therapist or a guidance counsellor with knowledge on family crisis. Also, talk to close friends and family member because you need all the support you can get at this time.

Remember your child deserves to grow in an environment filled with love and care. It may seem difficult to decide what’s best but with time and the right support system you will be fine.
