I am struggling with my relationship; I think it’s crashing. I got engaged to my fiancée last year not knowing that he’s addicted to drugs and pornography. And since then, I have tried my best to help him stop, but each time he tries to stop; he sees himself stumbling back.
Now, I can’t bear the pain because I live with him, and I just can’t bear the pain of seeing him taking drugs and watching porn for days nonstop.
Please help me save my relationship.

I am so sorry to hear about the challenging circumstance you are going through in your relationship. It is perfectly fair that you feel overwhelmed and hurt by this situation. Coping with addiction can be a huge task. It’s important to realise that you cannot force someone to stop their addictive behaviours and the decision to overcome addiction ultimately rests on you partner who is struggling with the addiction.
Supporting a person with addiction can be quite difficult as addiction is a complex and deeply personal struggle, and it requires your partner to be willing and committed to seeking professional help in order to making positive changes in his life.
Ultimately, managing a relationship affected by addiction can be extremely difficult since you have no control over your partner’s behaviours; you do have power over your own so maintaining your mental stability and making sure you are taking care of yourself is important too.
