I used to work in a customer care role and I excelled greatly at it. I knew the ins and outs of the job and it was satisfying even though career progression was somewhat very stagnant. I moved to one of the big four firms last year and things did not pan out the way I thought it would. Learning the ropes here has been difficult and it almost feels like I have dyslexia. The onboarding process was a far cry from what I expected and you're pretty much thrown into the job and expected to churn out fantastic results. The icing on the cake is my LM who does a terrible job at being a manager. But I digress. I have been wishing I never left my customer service job and now I can't exactly go back to it because I'd require certain certifications to land a company that will match my remuneration. I just hate that I don't understand this consulting of a thing and it doesn't seem like I'd be understanding it anytime soon. Many times, I wish I could just quit and take a customer care role that pays even lesser but this economy will not allow. It's tiring.
