I have been going through emotional banters w my brother; and he seems to always find a fault and be against all that I am doing. Down to wanting me to quit my relationship because he had a misunderstanding with my fiance. Talking down on him and telling me he is not a good fit for me as I love my fiance so much I am traumatized and down. I am 33 not yet married, I got one relationship and he is still talking it down.

It seems like your brother’s disapproval of your relationship is putting you in an uncomfortable position. It’s important to put your own emotions and choices first.

Think about talking to your brother, explain to him how his remarks are hurting you in a honest conversation, and let him know that you need his support.
At the end of the day, you have the final say in your relationship. Therefore, it’s important to prioritize your happiness and wellbeing first.

In addition, could there be things your brother is seeing in your fiancé that you are not seeing because of love?

You want to have a heart-to-heart conversation with your brother to know his concerns and fears. If they are unfounded, you can allay his fears. But if his concerns are true, you want to take a second look at your relationship and clarify those grey areas with your fiancé.

    All the best!

My brother on the other hand is cruel and hurtful with his words and cause he is eloquent with his words and I sorta struggle with mine he kinda buys everyone over and no one is even willing to listen to me before making a conclusion or passing judgement and this makes me super hurt and genuinely disappointed in him because I genuinely love him and still he has his way of gaslighting me or making me feel I’m only good enough when he approves of it and not the other way around and I was mad and crying bitterly today but right now I feel numb, he says things like think tactically not emotionally whist painting me as a fool in the sight of everyone and sells me off as an emotional fool
Yeah I don’t often time use precise words to describe what i feel but doesn’t mean I’m wrong I am honestly tired and I genuinely need help from someone who is not my family

I know you are having a difficult time coping with your brother’s harsh behaviors. It’s unfair for him to discredit you and manipulate other family members with his eloquence. It’s important to keep in mind that neither his nor anybody else’s approval determines your value. It could be very helpful for you to seek support from someone outside of your family, such as a therapist or a reliable friend. Remember, it’s to ask for help when you need it, and you deserve to be treated with treated with dignity and decency.
