I feel emotionally drained, alone, and like I’ve been carrying too much for too long. I struggle with emotional eating, and I push people away because I’m scared of being hurt. I just want to feel understood and safe again.

Emotional eating and keeping people at a distance are not signs of weakness they are coping mechanisms, ways your heart tries to protect itself when it feels overwhelmed or afraid of more pain. It sounds like you have been carrying a heavy weight on your shoulders for a long time, and it makes sense that you feel emotionally drained and have been isolated. Do you know what has been causing you to feel like this?

Thank you. I think you’re right. I’ve been carrying a lot emotionally for a long time, and it’s been exhausting. I’m not even sure where it all started, but I know I’m tired of feeling this way.

I understand it must feel exhausting trying to talk about it or figuring out where it all started from. Don't you think seeking counselling would be a great start? Carrying emotional baggage can be tough, especially when it starts to interfere with your daily life and there's no shame in seeking help. It would help you gain clarity and understanding of how to manage your emotions better.
