Okay, this is my first time writing on this site. My mother is over controlling. She believes she owns every aspect of my life and I never have left the house unless it’s to go to school or a place where she wants to show me off. In one year time, I’ll be going off to college. I’m only twelve years old going to thirteen. I noticed my mother’s controlling nature at the age of nine years old. While my classmates were having playdates, I was at home being berated by my mother for not getting the valedictorian position.
“How could you let her pass you like that! You were obviously not reading”
As I grew,so did my introverted nature. My mother didn’t like that, since she wanted me to be shown off to her friends like some trophy. Currently, at least one of her friends despises me due to all the bragging. My dad is trying but is always busy, yet he still makes sure he has time for us.

My elder sister is the only one keeping me sane in the house. She showed me an escape through the means of books and fandoms. I instantly fell in love with it. My mother was not pleased. She was already angry with my sister because she rebelled against her rules. You see, my mother wanted her to become a doctor, but my sister’s heart was set on computer science. My mother instantly went ballistic. She went on to rant about how she gave us life, how ungrateful we are and how she’s so dissapointed. My father was a little disappointed but supported my sister’s dream. With my sister’s rebelling, my mother set her eyes on her next project. She was on me like a blood hound.
“Don’t disappoint me. Your sister has decided to be stupid.”

I wanted to defend my sister. I seriously did, but I couldn’t find the courage to against her. And I regret it till this day.

This brings me to the reason I’m writing today. Tonight, I was playing a game on my mother’s phone when she called us for dinner. I wanted to close the application but my mother rounded on me. She didn’t give me a chance to explain and instantly started ranting. She insulted me and went to the table. I instantly ran to the bathroom to dry off my tears. I was always a bit of a crybaby. Later this night, she called me again.
“Listen, I can tolerate a lot of things” I almost scoffed at that,“But I don’t like this attitude of yours. I absolutely hate a crybaby. One day, your gonna start crying infromt of your classmates and just embarrass yourself. I only like strong kids, you hear me?”

I instantly went to my room and closed the door. I was so tired of crying all the time. So I decided to look for help. I can across this site and decided to try it. It’s really therapeutic. I hope this site helped other children like me.

    Hello Dear!
Your situation is quite complicated, but do not see it as a thing you can’t overcome. Your mum is probably trying to make you and your sister into what fits perfection in her books, she believes it is all for your own good, even though she has some selfish intentions.

Moreover, I could say she’s being so hard on you because your sister defied her.
Dear, please do not take things to heart. It will hurt, but she’s your mother and you would have to obey her. Let’s hope she’d be considerate if you try to talk things out with her. You can talk to your dad too.

I’d be available for further assistance.
Remember you are not alone. Adios!
