I really hate my life and everything about me,I often regret why God created me,I hate myself so much,I feel so less and different from others..I feel like people are better than me..I hate my family especially my dad,he is so Harsh and strict..he speaks so harshly to me,he makes me cry.He is easily angered and once he gets angry he becomes wild..I am in an emotional mess right now because of how he treated me this morning,he called me and before I could meet him in the sitting room he started yelling and almost started beating me..He is someone that doesn’t listen
to me or understand me,he doesn’t care how I feel at all…I feel so unloved and unwanted in this family…I’ve always wanted a dad I can be close to,there is nothing I would have cherished more than a beautiful relationship with my dad..i want a dad that will treat me with love and affection and make me feel special but instead I got the exact opposite of what I wanted… growing up with my dad has been so difficult because he is very harsh,I honestly have the worst relationship with my dad..it’s only my mum I truly love in my entire family.. honestly I wish I was never born in this family,I wish i could get another dad that would treat me better, someone that will care, listen and understand me,someone I can talk to and relate with, someone that will build my self confidence and self worth and not someone that uses harsh words to reduce me and does nothing but yell at me…I am so emotionally drained,I have been crying and feeling depressed for a while now and today’s incident with my dad just added to the whole thing…please help me..I might explode anytime soon..please can I get a replacement dad…pls help me

Unfortunately you cannot get a replacement dad. African dads, not just nigerian dads can be harsh. They feel if they are harsh you will be brought up better and more disciplined. I also got harsh treatment from my dad. So many of my friends also. You can look at the positives in this situation. Does he provide for you? If he does then thats a very good thing. You can concentrate on becoming a better person with your education or career. As our parents get older and as you get older, they become less harsh.
