My first boyfriend cheated on me with my close friend. And ever since it’s hard for me to trust anyone. Anytime I’m with a guy, i stalk their ex or their female friends and i don’t know and i find myself comparing myself to them. Who dresses better, who is better looking and all of that. It really affects me and I’ve tried to stop. I currently have a boyfriend that treats me right and he’s the best thing that’s happened to me of recent but i still find myself stalking his female friends or his exes and comparing myself to them. To see what he sees in them or if he’ll ever find them attractive. I don’t know tbh. I just know that i hate it and i don’t know how to stop. I need help

Sorry to hear that you went through such a painful experience with your ex-boyfriend. It’s normal to have a hard time trusting others after such a betrayal. However, you need to know that not every person is the same, and it’s not fair to assume that every person you date will behave in the same way.

Constantly comparing yourself to others is not healthy behavior and can lead to feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem. You are unique and have your own qualities that make you a valuable partner.
It’s important to stop stalking your boyfriend’s exes or female friends. This will give you less opportunity to compare yourself to them and allow you to focus on building a healthy relationship with your present partner.

You might also consider seeking therapy to help you work through your trust issues. A therapist can provide you with tools and techniques to manage your anxiety and negative thoughts.

Lastly, try to tell your current partner about how you’re feeling. Let him know that you’re struggling with trust issues and that it’s not a reflection of his behavior. He may be able to offer you support and uyou work through these challenges together.

Healing takes time, but with patience and effort, you can learn to trust again and have a healthy relationship.
